The Hunt is On

It seemed such a simple thing. I decided to do an art project involving marbles, thinking that would only require the simple act of going to the store and buying marbles. Right?

Oh no, no, no.

First I went to CVS (on the recommendation of one person) and then to WalMart (on the recommendation of someone else - Nylene in fact - and Nylene knows everything). But no. No marbles. I had Brian check Target when he was there getting something for scouts. Still no. Fine, I thought. I'll go to stinkin Toys R Us. So that's what I did. With all three kids in tow (silly, silly mommy) and THEY didn't have any either. Are you kidding me?

By the way, all these people claimed to be "out" but I didn't even see so much as a TAG with an empty shelf. Whatever.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of this dangerous and elusive fugitive, please inform the authorities immediately. Thank you.

Have you tried the floral section of an arts/crafts store? Sometimes they have round marbles to act as fillers for a vase or whatever. Not the classic toy-style colors, but same idea??

What is this world coming to?? I had the same problem when I attempted to find gumballs for Blue & Gold a few months ago. I was going to suggest the same thing as Amy... Good luck!

Michaels. Call first though. And get this - last year around Christmas NO ONE carried gingerbread cookie cutters. What's up with that? It wasn't like the stores were out of them or anything . . . they never carried them!

If not Michaels, call around some hobby stores.

No gingerbread cookie cutters at Christmas time? Are these the same people that stock sweaters in September in AZ? LOL.

Actually, Michaels was the first place I looked because we were there buying art supplies, but I didn't really expect to find marbles there, so I didn't consider it part of my search. It was a worker there who suggested CVS.

I decided to just use the marbles in our Aggravation game and call it good. But next time I see a bag of marbles somewhere, I'm getting them!! :)

Thanks for all your help guys!
