Yesterday I got a letter from the Census department. It read, in part:
"Dear Resident,
About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it in promptly." Etc etc.
Only the government would send me a letter to notify me that they'll be sending me a letter.

I thought the same thing! I couldn't believe they would do that. What a waste of money.
It's so late... and I'm so tired... but I couldn't help but comment. Jason and I laughed and laughed tonight when we got this letter. I told him it's a good thing our money is hard at work. :)
Ha Ha Ha, that's funny. The census laday came by my house yesterday and filled out a paper and gave me my census form personally since our house is new and not on her map.
Yes, we thought the letter was silly too.
In terms of how I felt about our government we had a funny conversation the the other day. Riley asked me if she could have an allowance. I reminded her that I give her opportunities to earn money. She argued back that some of her friends just get money without having to work for it. I told her that's not how I parent because life doesn't work that way. You don't just get money handed to you, you have to work hard and earn things and that's what I want to teach her. Then Ryan snidely cut in, "Unless its the government." Riley now uses that for her argument, "The government gives out money free." Thanks, Ryan. And thanks government.
HAHAHA. I thought that too. What a silly thing to do. Waste. of. Time.
